United States, June 2025 – Rachel Lappin Scheinman has started a new role as Chief Human Capital Officer at X-energy, a leading innovator in next-generation, carbon-free nuclear energy. In this pivotal role, Rachel will drive talent, culture, and organizational strategy, supporting X-energy’s mission to deliver reliable, safe, and sustainable energy solutions for the future.

Prior to joining X-energy, Rachel held dual roles at Altria as Human Resources Business Partner for Altria Group Distribution Company and Managing Director, HR Operations, Technology & Planning. Her time at Altria was marked by strategic counsel, technology solutions leadership, HR transformation, and M&A integration, where she partnered with executive teams to guide people operations across complex, high-growth environments.

Rachel previously served as Chief Human Resources Officer at NJOY, where she built and scaled the People function through a period of rapid growth, global expansion, and pre-IPO readiness, culminating in a $3 billion acquisition by Altria. She led HR infrastructure development, talent management, and played a central role in HR due diligence and integration for the high-profile exit.

Earlier, Rachel served as EVP, Human Resources, Compliance & Legal at NJOY, and led HR, legal, and compliance functions as Head of People and General Counsel at ACE, LLC (Parvus Rex Capital), and as Vice President, People and Compliance, and Deputy General Counsel at Turf Terminators, LLC. In these roles, she oversaw HR policy creation, legal compliance, culture initiatives, large-scale workforce expansion, and change management.

Rachel began her career in litigation roles at Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano, LLP and Weiss Wexler & Wornow PC, leveraging her legal expertise to support strategic human capital and compliance functions. She is also a founding member of CHIEF and an active member of CPOHQ + Knoetic AI, reflecting her ongoing leadership in the HR community.
