Selangor, Malaysia, July 2025 – David Jansen has taken on a new leadership role as General Manager – Human Resources at Jaya Grocer (Trendcell Sdn. Bhd.), building on his proven expertise in human resource strategy and transformation. In this capacity, David will oversee HR strategy, organizational culture, and talent management for Malaysia’s leading premium grocery chain as it continues to expand and innovate.
David’s journey at Jaya Grocer began as Head of Human Resources in March 2023, where he drove the implementation of HRIS, steered cultural transformation, and introduced strategic workforce planning. He played a pivotal role in HR project management, employer branding, OSHA compliance, and led continuous improvement initiatives across the organization, setting the stage for his new, broader responsibilities.
Prior to Jaya Grocer, David was Head, People & Culture at Rotiboy Bakeshoppe Sdn Bhd, where he managed HR across HQ, manufacturing, and outlet teams. He led talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, and employee engagement, while implementing succession planning and robust frameworks for health, safety, and compliance.
Earlier, David held key HR roles in the F&B and consulting sectors, including Engagement/HRBP Manager at Nando’s in Malaysia, HR Project Manager at PwC, and spent nearly 14 years with Shell in various HR and business partner positions. His responsibilities at Shell included change management, data accuracy, leadership development, process optimization, and mentoring high-potential employees across multiple teams and geographies.
David is widely recognized for his strategic approach to HR, analytical skills, and a passion for leadership development, with a track record of driving team performance, transformation, and organizational success in fast-growing, consumer-facing sectors.
