Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2025 – Prantik Dasgupta has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer – Aluminium Business at Waaree Group. In this strategic leadership role, Prantik is responsible for overseeing the P&L of the aluminium vertical, driving expansion through greenfield projects, and leading M&A efforts to strengthen Waaree’s position in the market.
Prior to this, Prantik served as Vice President – Business Development Indonesia and Country Director, India at Coeclerici Far East PTE, where he was responsible for growing the thermal coal business in Indonesia while leading the India operations. He held several senior leadership positions at Coeclerici, including Country Director and Commodity Trader, showcasing his expertise in global energy and commodity markets.
Earlier, he worked with the Adani Group for over four years, where he held roles such as Business Head – Integrated Coal Management, Head – International Coal Business, and Head – Coal Sourcing (Indonesia). His tenure at Adani was marked by managing multi-million metric ton coal sourcing portfolios and strategic global sales operations.
Before Adani, Prantik spent more than a decade at Vedanta Group’s Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO). He served as Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer – Aluminium Sector, and Head of Domestic Sales and Marketing, leading teams across functions like supply chain, strategic sourcing, international and domestic aluminium sales, and SRM implementation. He also had a key stint as Head – Silver and Lead Business within Hindustan Zinc Limited.
He began his career at Infosys as an Associate Consultant and holds an MBA in Marketing from IIM Lucknow.
