Bonnie McDonald Appointed as Vice President of Human Resources at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Durham, North Carolina, United States, July 2025 – Bonnie McDonald has been appointed as the Vice President of Human Resources at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a global biotechnology leader focused on rare diseases. In her new role, she will lead HR strategy and operations globally, helping shape the organizational culture, drive strategic talent initiatives, and support the company’s continued growth and innovation across geographies.

Prior to joining BioCryst, Bonnie served as Head of Human Resources at Actinium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for over two years, where she led enterprise-wide HR strategies, talent management, change initiatives, and performance systems. She played an instrumental role in cultivating a values-driven culture, strengthening leadership capabilities, and aligning human capital practices with business transformation goals.

Previously, she was Senior Director HRBP – Commercialization at HUTCHMED, where she supported the organization’s first commercial product launch. Her contributions included building HR capability from the ground up, designing sales incentive structures, driving organizational effectiveness, and implementing performance systems to advance commercial excellence.

Bonnie also held the role of Sr. Director HR North America at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals for over six years, where she successfully led HR across generics, specialty, and innovative divisions. Her tenure was marked by the scaling of headcount, cost savings initiatives, creation of new R&D and clinical divisions, and HR policy innovation supporting over 400 employees.

She began her earlier HR leadership journey with long-standing tenures at Forest Laboratories (now Allergan) and Bristol Myers Squibb, where she served in various HR business partner roles supporting large sales organizations. Across these roles, she demonstrated strong capability in employee engagement, training, compliance, talent strategy, and business partnering.
