Keasbey, New Jersey, United States, July 2025 – Jessica Gasser has been promoted to the role of Chief Human Resources and Administrative Officer at Wakefern Food Corp. In this expanded position, she will continue to serve as a strategic leader overseeing all facets of HR and administrative operations, including workforce policies, talent strategy, compliance, employee engagement, and organizational culture, while aligning internal operations with business strategy and governance goals.
Over the past nearly five years at Wakefern Food Corp., Jessica Gasser has held progressive leadership roles, most recently as Chief Human Resources Officer, where she developed and led people and culture strategies across business units, board-level governance, and organizational transformation. Prior to that, she served as Vice President, Human Resources, Executive Staff, shaping centralized HR strategies and driving effectiveness across the co-op’s divisions, subsidiaries, and centers of excellence.
Before joining Wakefern, she worked at ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. as Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Compliance Officer, where she played a dual role on the executive team, leading corporate HR strategy while serving as the company’s compliance head and liaison with Wakefern. She was instrumental in managing legal, labor, and communications issues.
Jessica’s most extensive experience was at Kings Food Markets, where she spent over two decades in various senior HR and operations roles, ultimately rising to Executive Vice President, Strategic Services. She led HR, IT, labor relations, and strategic initiatives, including enterprise system upgrades and M&A readiness. As a key member of the executive team, she was also a trusted advisor and chief negotiator with multiple labor unions.
Earlier in her career, she held HR roles at ABM Industries and began her leadership journey as a Restaurant General Manager at Pizza Hut. Her early experience helped her build a strong foundation in people management, operations, and compliance.
