New Delhi, Delhi, India, August 2025 — Rajesh Arora has stepped into the role of President and CEO – Commercial & Growth at GMR Group’s Airport Sector, headquartered in New Delhi. Bringing over three decades of experience across finance, mergers & acquisitions, fundraising, and business development, Rajesh is a seasoned leader with deep institutional knowledge from his distinguished 17-year journey at GMR Group. His previous leadership roles within the Group include CEO – Business Development & Commercial and Chief Financial Officer at GMR Hyderabad Airport, where he played a central role in driving strategic growth, managing corporate integration, and overseeing joint venture operations within the aviation vertical.
In his most recent tenure at GMR Group, Rajesh led business development and commercial initiatives, forging strategic partnerships and enhancing the Group’s airport business portfolio. As CFO of GMR Hyderabad Airport, he was instrumental in strengthening the airport’s financial framework, improving operational efficiency, and driving sustainable revenue growth. Prior to that, as CFO – Joint Ventures and Corporate Integration in the Airport Sector, he managed complex M&A processes and integration strategies, enabling the Group to scale its aviation operations.
Before joining GMR Group in 2008, Rajesh spent an impressive 17 years at Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited, where he rose from Management Trainee to General Manager – Finance. During this time, he honed his expertise in financial management, process development, and MIS systems, successfully leading high-impact projects and streamlining operational processes in a competitive, large-scale business environment.
Known for his ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver transformative results, Rajesh’s appointment is set to reinforce GMR Group’s vision for sustained growth in the airport infrastructure sector. With his proven leadership and deep sectoral expertise, he will be responsible for driving commercial strategy, expanding the Group’s aviation footprint, and enhancing its position as a global leader in airport operations and integrated aviation services.
