BOSTON, March 26, 2024 – In a strategic move to bolster its leadership ranks, Rockpoint, a distinguished real estate private equity firm headquartered in Boston, has proudly announced the appointment of Managing Members Tom Gilbane and Aric Shalev as Co-Presidents of the firm. This promotion signifies a pivotal step in expanding their leadership roles, reinforcing Rockpoint’s commitment to driving excellence in investment, operational, and fundraising endeavors across its premier global investor base.

Gilbane and Shalev, each bringing a rich legacy of over 20 years at Rockpoint, will maintain their deep involvement in all facets of the firm’s activities, ensuring the continued achievement of strong risk-adjusted returns. Their collaboration with Co-Founders and Managing Members Bill Walton and Keith Gelb is set to further solidify the firm’s strategic direction and operational excellence.

Bill Walton commended the duo for their instrumental roles in the firm’s growth and success, stating, “Tom and Aric have been invaluable to Rockpoint’s mission and growth, demonstrating unwavering commitment and contributing to our investment track record. Their promotion to Co-Presidents will ensure Rockpoint’s continued success and longevity.”

Keith Gelb highlighted the complementary skills and market expertise that Gilbane and Shalev bring to their new positions, emphasizing their respected leadership and the positive impact of their work both internally and with investor partners. “As we evolve, their collective experience will greatly benefit our investors, enabling us to capitalize on our strengths as a vertically integrated investor and operator,” Gelb added.

Tom Gilbane, who has been with Rockpoint since 2011, managed the firm’s eastern U.S. investment and asset management activities. His previous experience includes tenure at Westbrook Real Estate Partners, L.L.C., and Merrill Lynch in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group.

Aric Shalev, also a Managing Member since 2011, has overseen the firm’s western U.S. investment and asset management activities from the San Francisco office. His background includes roles at Westbrook Real Estate Partners, L.L.C., and Morgan Stanley in the Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructuring Group.

Both Gilbane and Shalev expressed enthusiasm about their new roles and the future direction of Rockpoint, underscoring their commitment to executing the firm’s strategic objectives and delivering consistent performance.
