Mumbai, India, September 2025 – Abhijeet Jain has been appointed as Senior Vice President Human Resources at UltraTech Cement, India’s largest cement manufacturer and one of the leading global players in the sector. In this role, he will drive people strategy, capability building, and workforce engagement for the company, contributing to its growth and leadership in the industry.
Abhijeet has been with UltraTech Cement for more than four years. He most recently served as Functional Head – HR Vice President, where he was responsible for leading large-scale HR initiatives across the organization. Prior to that, he was Functional Head – HR Assistant Vice President, based in Gujarat, where he helped strengthen HR systems, improve engagement frameworks, and align people strategy with business goals.
Before joining UltraTech, Abhijeet had a significant stint with Wockhardt Ltd., where he served for over five years as Senior General Manager & Head HR and earlier as General Manager & Head HR. In these roles, he led HR for 10 manufacturing plants and one R&D center at the national level, overseeing areas such as talent acquisition, attrition control, learning & development, employee engagement, industrial relations, statutory compliance, and government liaison. His leadership was pivotal in enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee experience across Wockhardt’s operations.
Earlier in his career, Abhijeet headed HR functions at TAFE – Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, where as Head Plant HR, he led the people agenda for the tractor manufacturing plant in Bhopal. He drove large-scale engagement and CSR initiatives, streamlined workforce structures, and built strong, cohesive teams. Prior to this, he was Head of Human Resources at Tata Advanced Systems Ltd., where he built HR, EHS, Admin, and Security functions for three helicopter manufacturing plants in Hyderabad during a critical greenfield phase.
His career also includes impactful roles at Pfizer, where he led HR and factory management during a period of acquisition and transformation, and ABB, where he headed HR and industrial relations for six business units and multiple projects across India. Abhijeet began his HR journey with leadership roles at RICO Auto Industries, Uflex Group, Aksh Optifibre Ltd., Ranutrol Industries Ltd., and Samarthan-Centre for Development Support, steadily building his expertise in human resources, industrial relations, and organizational development.
