Lafarge Africa Plc, a leading force in Nigeria’s building solutions sector and a key player within the global Holcim group, has recently bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of Viola Graham-Douglas as the Director of Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainable Development. Graham-Douglas, whose professional journey is marked by a diverse and impactful career, transitions to Lafarge Africa from Guinness Nigeria Plc, a subsidiary of Diageo, where she served as the Director of International Premium Spirits (IPS), Reserve, and Modern Trade. In her role at Guinness Nigeria, she was at the forefront of managing the sales strategy for imported premium spirits and high-end products, including overseeing D-commerce strategies that significantly contributed to the brand’s growth and market positioning.

Prior to her tenure at Guinness Nigeria, Graham-Douglas played a pivotal role in corporate relations at Diageo – Guinness Nigeria Plc, where she was instrumental in navigating government relations, public policy, sustainability, and both internal and external communications. Her efforts in these areas underscored her expertise in regulatory strategy and her commitment to sustainable business practices.

Her return to Lafarge signifies a homecoming of sorts, having previously contributed her skills and leadership to Lafarge in various capacities, including as Country Communications Director and Managing Director of Atlas Cement. Her extensive experience within Lafarge, coupled with her tenure as Audit Director at Lafarge SA, France, showcases her deep understanding of the company’s operations, culture, and strategic vision.
