Leiden, Netherlands, September 2025 — Inter IKEA Group has announced that Jakub Jankowski, currently Managing Director for IKEA Industry, will become the new Chief Executive Officer of Inter IKEA Group effective 1 January 2026, succeeding Jon Abrahamsson Ring.
After 20 years at IKEA, including leading the IKEA Franchisor from 2018 and serving as CEO of Inter IKEA Group since 2020, Jon Abrahamsson Ring will hand over the leadership baton. Jon began his career at IKEA Örebro and has held leading positions in Canada, China, the Netherlands, and Sweden, including as assistant to IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad.
“Big thanks to Jon for all his contributions to IKEA and for successfully leading the business through a period of global disruptions and big transformation. During his leadership, IKEA has become more affordable, accessible and sustainable. I have truly appreciated the cooperation with Jon, who always has the IKEA vision and values in the center,” said Anders Dahlvig, chairman of Inter IKEA Holding B.V.
Reflecting on his journey, Jon Abrahamsson Ring said: “I am happy and grateful for my long IKEA journey and proud of what we have accomplished together in this generation of IKEA. In times of turmoil and transformation, IKEA stands strong with a clear direction and good momentum, and the timing is now right to hand over and say thank you for all the passion and commitment by the 200,000+ IKEA colleagues, franchisees and suppliers. IKEA is, and will always be, in my heart.”
“Jakub Jankowski is an experienced and value-based leader with a great understanding of the value chain, and I am very happy that he has accepted to take the role as new CEO of Inter IKEA Group,” added Anders Dahlvig.
Jakub Jankowski joined IKEA in Poland in 2001 and has since held many leadership positions across Romania, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Sweden — including store manager, CEO assistant, category area manager, and deputy trading area manager — before leading IKEA Industry.
“I am truly honored and humbled by the task, and I am looking forward to building on the solid foundation that Jon leaves behind. There is only one way to build success and continue to develop IKEA as the leader in life at home. And that is to do it together – with all parts of the value chain. I strongly believe in the IKEA direction and in continuing the work to make IKEA even more affordable, accessible and sustainable. I sincerely want to thank Jon for his contribution to IKEA during his long career. His values-based leadership has been crucial to the success of IKEA,” said Jakub Jankowski.
