Leicester, England, United Kingdom, October 2025 — Hammonds Furniture has announced the appointment of Katy McIntyre as Chief People & Strategy Officer, expanding her previous remit as Chief People Officer to now encompass business strategy, transformation, and shareholder engagement. In this board-level role, Katy partners directly with the CEO and fellow directors to drive strategic execution, organizational capability, and a culture of performance and innovation aligned with the company’s long-term growth vision.
As Chief People & Strategy Officer, Katy is responsible for delivering the company’s business strategy and people agenda with direct accountability to shareholders. Her leadership spans business transformation, operational excellence, governance, and leadership effectiveness. She plays a key role in building a high-performing and collaborative board culture, ensuring Hammonds Furniture continues to deliver sustainable growth and operational resilience.
Katy has been with Hammonds Furniture for three years, during which she has held progressive leadership roles. As Chief People Officer, she guided the organization through large-scale transformation, overseeing a workforce of 1,300 and spearheading initiatives to build a high-performing, customer-first culture that drives innovation and commercial success. She designed and executed people strategies focused on organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and cultural transformation — all aligned with Hammonds’ mission of helping customers “live better.”
Before joining Hammonds, Katy spent over four years with the Global Fashion Group, where she served as Group Head of Culture and Engagement and later as Group Head of Organisational Development & Effectiveness. In these roles, she supported a global population of 15,000 employees across 19 countries, leading leadership development programs, engagement frameworks, and diversity and inclusion strategies. She also played a critical role in preparing the organization for IPO by embedding culture, performance, and sustainability frameworks across global markets.
Earlier in her career, Katy held pivotal roles in THE ICONIC, one of Australia’s fastest-growing tech and fashion businesses. As Head of Employee Experience, People & Culture, she helped grow the organization from 50 to 1,000 employees, significantly improving engagement scores from 53% to 79% and implementing first-to-market HR technology solutions such as Culture Amp and Workplace. Her earlier roles in Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, and Retail Management at Michael Page, The Estée Lauder Companies, and TOPSHOP TOPMAN provided her with a strong foundation in commercial leadership, customer experience, and people development.
