Mr. Kant, a veteran of the Indian Administrative Service (Kerala Cadre, 1980 Batch), has been at the forefront of India’s developmental and economic transformation journey. As G20 Sherpa during India’s Presidency and former CEO of NITI Aayog, he has played a pivotal role in advancing the country’s policy reforms, fostering innovation ecosystems, and driving sustainable development agendas.
He is widely recognized as the architect of several flagship national initiatives including Make in India, Startup India, Incredible India, and God’s Own Country, which positioned India as a global destination for investment, entrepreneurship, and tourism. His vast experience in governance, coupled with his commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth, makes him a valuable addition to L&T’s Board as the company continues to engineer solutions that power India’s infrastructure and digital future.
