With an illustrious career spanning more than two decades across leading global organizations, Bharath brings exceptional expertise in supply chain transformation, procurement strategy, and sustainable operations across the renewable energy, automotive, and electronics sectors.
In his new role, Bharath will lead the supply chain strategy for Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, focusing on efficiency, agility, and resilience across sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics networks. His leadership is expected to strengthen the company’s global supply chain ecosystem while advancing its sustainability goals and operational excellence initiatives.
Before joining Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, Bharath Swaminathan spent over six years at Vestas, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions. During his tenure, he served as Senior Director – Service Supply Chain (SSCBP), leading multi-regional teams and overseeing complex global operations that enhanced service delivery, cost optimization, and material availability. He previously served as Director, Service Supply Chain at Vestas, driving large-scale initiatives to increase supply chain responsiveness and sustainability within the renewable energy domain.
Prior to his tenure at Vestas, Bharath worked with GE as Sourcing and Supply Chain Leader, where he was responsible for developing supplier strategies and driving process excellence across multiple business verticals. His role emphasized operational synergy, supplier relationship management, and productivity improvement through data-driven decision-making.
Bharath’s decade-long stint at Schneider Electric saw him rise through progressive leadership roles, including Cluster Head for Purchasing and Purchasing Manager, overseeing a purchasing spend of over USD 500 million across ten engineer-to-order plants. His leadership was instrumental in implementing global sourcing frameworks, consolidating suppliers, and enhancing procurement efficiency through advanced analytics and forecasting tools.
He began his supply chain journey at Eaton Corporation, where he held key positions such as Supply Chain Manager, Materials Planning Manager, and Supervisor, managing large-scale production planning, supplier performance improvement, and ERP implementation projects. His contributions significantly improved supply chain visibility, on-time delivery, and operational reliability across multiple manufacturing locations.
