Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, December 2025 – The Arnott’s Group has appointed Alison Merner as its new Chief People Officer, where she will lead the People & Culture strategy across Australia and the Asia Pacific. Her mandate includes building capability, strengthening culture, and supporting the organisation’s growth ambitions.
CEO George Zoghbi welcomed her appointment, stating, “With her strong commercial insights, strategic people leadership and inclusive approach, I’m confident Alison will play a pivotal role in elevating our business through the delivery of a high-impact People & Culture function.”
Before joining The Arnott’s Group, Alison Merner served nearly six years at Endeavour Group, most recently as Chief People Officer. She led enterprise-wide people strategy, supported large-scale transformation, and strengthened leadership capability across the business.
She previously spent over ten years at Woolworths Group in senior HR leadership roles, including General Manager – HR, Big W, Group Head of HR Transformation, and Head of HR – Fuel and Convenience, where she guided HR operations, culture transformation, and employee engagement.
Earlier in her career, she worked at Coles Myer for about four years, supporting HR advisory and people practices across NSW. Her foundational experience began at the NSW Ombudsman’s Office, where she worked for nearly four years as an Investigations Officer contributing to governance and compliance functions.
