Ahmedabad & Mumbai, India, January 2026 — Narayan (Ranjan) has taken on a new role as Head – Strategy and Operations at the Adani Group. In this position, he is part of the Group-level Corporate Brand Custodian (CBC) unit, with responsibility for strategic planning and operational management across corporate and consumer branding, as well as corporate communications for the Group.
In his new role, Narayan (Ranjan) is working closely with Adani Group’s diverse business units to design, develop and execute branding and communication initiatives for both external and internal stakeholders. His mandate includes strengthening operational processes and systems for the function, driving operational efficiencies, and enabling strategic reporting across the operating unit.
Prior to this appointment, Narayan (Ranjan) served as Senior Advisor at Quintillion Business Media Ltd., an Adani Group company, where he worked closely with senior leadership of the Group’s media vertical. His responsibilities included strategic planning and execution, project management, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic reporting, supporting brands such as NDTV, NDTV India, NDTV Profit, NDTV Digital, BQ Prime and IANS, along with managing the NDTV CEO’s office.
Before joining the Adani ecosystem, he was Chief Operating Officer at Happydemic, where he focused on scaling the organisation by broadening product offerings, expanding client reach, entering new territories, and building a strong operating team. His career also includes an advisory role with EY, contributing to forensic and governance-related engagements, thought leadership in the media and entertainment sector, and the design and delivery of governance, compliance and communication programmes for clients in India and globally.
Earlier in his career, Narayan (Ranjan) spent over 14 years with Viacom18 Media Private Limited, holding senior leadership roles including Senior Executive Vice President (Chief of Staff) and Group Chief Financial Officer, where he led group-level mergers and acquisitions, governance, finance, systems and processes, and played a key role in driving growth, profitability and operational excellence. He also held senior finance and commercial leadership roles with Star TV Network (now Disney Star) and began his professional journey in financial research and advisory roles.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Narayan (Ranjan) is a Visiting Faculty at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, where he teaches securities law and corporate criminal liability to postgraduate and undergraduate law students.
