In this expanded leadership role, she will steer enterprise-wide people strategy, talent architecture, organizational development, and high-impact transformation initiatives aligned with the company’s long-term growth agenda.
At JSW Energy Ltd in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Shalu Sood has been a key architect of the organization’s HR transformation over the past four years. Prior to this promotion, she served as Head HR – Strategy, Organizational Development, Performance & M&A, where she partnered with business leadership to design scalable HR strategies, lead large-scale change management, embed a purpose-driven culture, strengthen learning capabilities, and champion diversity and inclusion. Her work closely linked performance philosophy with business outcomes and positioned HR as a strategic enabler of growth.
Before joining JSW Energy, at STL – Sterlite Technologies Limited in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, Shalu Sood served as Head of Human Resources – Network Software and earlier as Head – HR, Service Delivery Unit. She led global people agendas across multiple geographies, built capability frameworks to support STL’s software and telecom businesses, and enabled leadership development, succession planning, and culture transformation to meet ambitious sustainability and growth objectives.
Earlier in her career, at Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, Shalu Sood worked as AVP Talent Management, strengthening leadership pipelines and talent processes. Her tenure across Sterlite Technologies’ Gurugram operations further deepened her expertise in organization design, coaching senior leaders, and developing segmented employee development approaches for complex project-driven environments.
At Reliance Broadcast Network in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and Vodafone India in the Greater Delhi Area, India, Shalu Sood led multi-business HR functions covering media, digital, and telecom domains. She drove business partnering, performance management, compensation strategy, talent acquisition, and organizational development while optimizing productivity and employee engagement across diverse workforces.
In the early phase of her journey, at Alstom India Limited in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, HCL Technologies, and Hitachi Home and Life Solutions (I) Ltd, she built strong foundations in talent transformation, leadership programs, and HR operations. Her academic credentials from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and Nirma Institute of Management further strengthened her strategic HR orientation.
