Pune, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Sudhir Varpe, PMP® has been appointed as Head of Business Unit – Gas Sensors at Schaeffler, where he will lead the sensor business across India for automotive, off-road, and two-wheeler customer segments. In this role, he holds full P&L responsibility and will drive strategic sales growth, market expansion, and product optimisation across Schaeffler’s gas sensor portfolio, while fostering collaboration across global teams to enhance customer satisfaction.
Sudhir brings extensive experience in program and business leadership across leading automotive technology organisations. In his current role at Schaeffler, he is responsible for developing and executing India-focused strategies for the gas sensors business, strengthening market presence, and aligning product offerings with evolving customer and regulatory requirements.
Prior to this appointment, he served as General Manager – Program Management at Vitesco Technologies, where he led complex programs, managed cross-functional teams, and supported risk management and delivery excellence across multiple initiatives.
Earlier, Sudhir was associated with Continental as Senior Manager – Program Management, working within the powertrain division for sensors and actuators. His role involved leading program execution, customer coordination, and delivery governance for critical automotive projects.
He also spent over six years earlier in his career with Schaeffler as Senior Manager – Program Management, where he acted as a key interface with OEMs, ensured adherence to time, quality, and cost targets, and presented major programs to local and global steering committees. His earlier experience further includes long tenures at Tyco Electronics, spanning project management and manufacturing leadership roles, where he built a strong foundation in operations, program execution, and customer-centric delivery.
