Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands, February 2026 –Esmé Valk has joined the Board of Amsterdam Economic Board, alongside her role as Chief People & Transformation Officer and Management Board member at Royal Schiphol Group. The Board brings together leaders from business, government, and knowledge institutions to accelerate innovation, sustainability, and the development of a future-proof regional economy in the Amsterdam metropolitan area.
Esmé has built her leadership journey at Royal Schiphol Group over the past nine years. She began as HR Manager for the Capital Programme & Consumers, later stepping into the role of Project Reset Lead during a pivotal transformation phase. She subsequently served as Director Human Resources, CHRO and Executive Committee member, before being appointed Chief People & Transformation Officer at Management Board level. Her progression reflects deep expertise in organizational transformation, workforce strategy, and sustainable leadership within a complex international aviation environment.
Her broader governance portfolio includes roles with VNO-NCW and SER Topvrouwen, further demonstrating her influence across the Dutch business ecosystem and her commitment to inclusive leadership and sustainable economic growth.
Earlier in her career, Esmé held HR leadership positions at Rexel and BAS Consultancy, following international hospitality experience at The Breakers Palm Beach. Her appointment to the Amsterdam Economic Board strategically connects aviation, economic development, and sustainability at a time when Schiphol and the wider region are navigating significant transformation.
