Jo Ann Bjornson Appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer at BigBear.ai

Tysons Corner, Virginia, United States, March 2026 – BigBear.ai has appointed Jo Ann Bjornson as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), reinforcing its leadership as the company continues to advance its position in AI-driven decision intelligence and national security solutions.

In her new role, Bjornson will lead the global human resources function, focusing on talent strategy, organizational capability, and workforce transformation to support BigBear.ai’s growth in highly complex and mission-critical environments.

In her current role at BigBear.ai, Jo Ann Bjornson steps into the CHRO position, bringing extensive experience in leading HR strategy for global, technology-driven organizations.

Prior to this, she worked as an Independent Human Resources Consultant at Austria Sabel LLC, where she partnered with organizations to solve complex HR challenges, including improving recruitment outcomes, designing incentive structures, and driving operational efficiencies.

Earlier, she served as SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at V2X Inc., leading HR for a $4 billion publicly traded company with 16,000 employees across 50 countries, overseeing global HR strategy, talent acquisition, total rewards, learning and development, and employee relations.

She also spent over a decade at Leidos, where she held senior leadership roles including Senior Vice President, Human Resources Executive, leading HR for a business unit with 10,000 employees and $2.7 billion in annual revenues, and earlier as Vice President, Human Resources, supporting enterprise-wide HR strategy across a large global workforce.

Before that, she built deep HR expertise during a long tenure at SAIC, progressing through multiple leadership roles, including Assistant Vice President and HR Director, contributing to major organizational transformations, shared services implementation, and corporate restructuring initiatives.

Her early career includes roles in recruitment and HR business partnering, as well as a brief tenure as an Adjunct Professor at Marymount University, reflecting her commitment to talent development and knowledge sharing.

Bjornson holds an Executive MBA from the University of Maryland – Robert H. Smith School of Business and a Master’s degree in HR Management from Marymount University.
