Samantha Hammock Joins Cencora as Chief Human Resources Officer

Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, United States, July 2026 — Cencora has appointed Samantha Hammock as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), where she will lead the global people strategy for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical solutions organizations.

Reflecting on her new role, Samantha shared:

Samantha joins Cencora after nearly six years with Verizon, where she most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. In that role, she led the company’s global human resources function, following an earlier assignment as Senior Vice President, Global Talent, overseeing enterprise-wide talent strategy and leadership development.

Prior to Verizon, Samantha spent more than fourteen years at American Express, holding a series of progressively senior leadership roles across learning, talent, leadership development, and organizational transformation. Her responsibilities included serving as Global Talent & Learning Leader, Chief Learning Officer, Vice President, Leadership Strategy, Vice President, Global Leadership Development & Onboarding, Vice President, Learning & Communications, and Director, Change Management, helping shape enterprise leadership capability and organizational effectiveness across the global organization.

Earlier in her career, she served as Manager at JPMorgan Chase Vastera and began her professional journey as an Auditor with Ernst & Young.

Samantha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Law from Michigan State University and an MBA in Finance from Wayne State University, combining business, finance, and organizational leadership expertise developed over more than two decades of executive experience.
