Akron, Ohio, United States, March 2026 — FirstEnergy has announced that Jennifer Lawless is set to step into the role of Vice President, Enterprise Learning next week, strengthening the company’s leadership focus on enterprise-wide capability building and workforce development.
In this role, Lawless will lead FirstEnergy’s enterprise learning agenda, supporting initiatives that build leadership capability, improve operational effectiveness, and advance learning strategies aligned with business priorities across the organization.
Prior to this appointment, Lawless spent over six years at Exelon, most recently serving as Director of Training. In that capacity, she drove training business plan initiatives that improved worker performance, leadership development, safety, and efficiencies across Exelon’s operating companies, while also building strong partnerships with executives and senior leaders across a large, matrixed organization.
Before being named Director of Training, she served as Senior Manager, Training at Exelon, where her work included developing and scaling supervisor training programs, serving as a master facilitator for train-the-trainer and leadership programs, and pioneering a hybrid workplace leadership community using micro-learning and digital content to support leaders managing hybrid and remote-enabled teams.
Earlier, Lawless held multiple roles with Exelon Nuclear, including Corporate Training Manager, Instructional & Leadership Development, where she created the nuclear supervisor training program and helped establish leadership academy initiatives aligned with core competencies and business strategy. She also contributed as a Principal Instructional Technologist & Leadership Training Specialist, partnering with executives on enterprise learning initiatives and designing and delivering leadership programs during periods of major organizational change.
Her earlier experience includes leadership responsibilities at Tennessee Valley Authority as Accreditation Support Manager, along with foundational roles in instructional design and learning technology at Lynn University and Rollins College, and early career experience in distance learning services with Broome-Tioga BOCES.
