Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, March 2026 – TAQA Water Solutions has appointed Sanjay Bhattacharya as Senior Vice President, strengthening its leadership as the organization continues to drive transformation and innovation in the utilities and water solutions sector.
With over two decades of experience in organization development, workforce transformation, total rewards, and corporate governance, Sanjay brings a strong track record of influencing business strategy and delivering large-scale transformation across industries. In his new role, he will contribute to shaping TAQA Water Solutions’ people and organizational agenda, supporting its growth and operational excellence across the region.
In his current role at TAQA Water Solutions, Sanjay Bhattacharya serves as Senior Vice President and Head of People & Organization, leading strategic initiatives across workforce transformation, HR operating model design, and organizational effectiveness while engaging with senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
Prior to this, he spent over a decade at Protiviti Middle East as Managing Director, where he led People & Organization advisory services, delivering large-scale transformation projects across sectors such as energy, utilities, healthcare, financial services, and education. He played a key role in workforce planning, performance management, and IPO readiness initiatives for leading organizations in the Middle East.
Earlier, he served as Area General Manager at Hay Group, driving organization design, compensation strategy, and performance management initiatives across industries including oil & gas, banking, and telecom, helping clients align talent strategies with business objectives.
He also held leadership roles at Ernst & Young as Executive Manager – People and Organisation, where he led HR transformation, organization design, and process reengineering initiatives for major clients across the Gulf region.
In the earlier phase of his career, Sanjay worked with M.H. Alshaya Co., Gulf Bank, and Thermax, building strong expertise in compensation, HR systems, performance management, and engineering operations, laying a solid foundation for his leadership in people strategy and transformation.
Sanjay holds an MBA in Operations Management from Victoria University, further strengthening his strategic and operational leadership capabilities.
