Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, March 2026 — Bijay Chowdhury has started a new position as Country Lead – CSR and Global Impact at UKG. In this role, he will partner with the Global Belonging and Impact team to amplify philanthropic initiatives while leading the design and execution of Kronos India’s statutory CSR framework. His appointment reflects UKG’s continued focus on advancing impactful social responsibility initiatives and strengthening its broader community engagement agenda.
Before joining UKG, Bijay Chowdhury was associated with Synopsys Inc, where he served as Group Head – CSR and Philanthropy (Asia Pacific) | Senior Manager and earlier as Group Head – CSR and Philanthropy (Asia Pacific) | Manager. During his tenure, he led the CSR charter for Synopsys India entities and ensured that the company’s spending aligned responsibly with defined focus areas and national priorities through an impact-driven approach. He formulated CSR policy and associated SOPs, curated the CSR charter around areas such as STEM infrastructure, scholarships, employability, entrepreneurship, DEI, nature restoration, clean energy, and greening, and supervised budget management to ensure timely and effective implementation of initiatives.
At Synopsys Inc, he also engaged with nonprofit organizations to identify community needs aligned with the company’s focus areas, monitored and evaluated programme effectiveness, presented CSR-related matters to the Board of Directors on behalf of the CSR Committee, supported CSR-related filings, implemented employee volunteering across India sites, and represented the organization at key national CSR forums. This experience added considerable depth to his profile as a CSR and philanthropy leader with strong governance and execution capabilities.
Earlier, Bijay Chowdhury worked with KPMG as Consultant – Corporate Social Responsibility Advisory, where he was part of the CSR advisory practice serving corporate clients on the effective management of their CSR initiatives. His work included managing due diligence, CSR audits, impact assessments, facilitating workshops for nonprofits, and drafting the implications of CSR amendments for clients. He also led the social dimension of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for a large conglomerate, further broadening his advisory and sustainability exposure.
Prior to that, he held the role of Analyst (Office of the RMP) – Corporate Social Responsibility at Deloitte India (Offices of the US), where he focused on developing and overseeing impactful CSR programs, evaluating NGO proposals, tracking project expenditures, engaging with partners, and preparing impact reports. He also worked at HP as Program Manager – Corporate Social Responsibility, managing CSR initiatives around digital literacy and employee engagement across India, and at Jubilant Bhartia Foundation as Assistant Manager – Corporate Social Responsibility, where he supported CSR planning across multiple manufacturing sites and managed strategic partnerships with organizations such as HP, CII, and Panasonic.
Bijay Chowdhury is also academically grounded in the field, having studied Rural Management at the Xavier Institute of Social Service. With a career spanning UKG, Synopsys Inc, KPMG, Deloitte India, HP, and Jubilant Bhartia Foundation, he brings extensive experience in CSR strategy, philanthropy, impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, governance, and programme execution. His move to UKG is expected to further strengthen the company’s social impact agenda in India and beyond.
