India, April 2026 — Synchrony has appointed Shweta S. as Vice President, Human Resources for Technology, reinforcing its leadership focus on building future-ready talent capabilities in a rapidly evolving digital and AI-driven business landscape.
In her new role, Shweta will lead the people strategy for Synchrony’s technology function, focusing on organizational effectiveness, talent transformation, leadership capability, and digital workforce readiness to support innovation and growth across the company’s global technology ecosystem.
Shweta brings over two decades of diverse and global HR leadership experience across financial services, technology, and consulting environments. Prior to joining Synchrony, she spent more than a decade at Mastercard, where she most recently served as Global People Business Partner and Location Head, supporting high-impact global consulting and security solutions businesses. In this role, she drove organizational design, leadership development, global talent mobility, and people strategy alignment across complex, innovation-led environments.
Earlier at Mastercard, she played a key role as a People Business Partner, partnering with global technology teams to design and implement people strategies aligned with digital platform development and business performance, while also contributing to large-scale initiatives in diversity, inclusion, and organizational transformation.
Prior to Mastercard, Shweta held leadership roles at Vodafone, where she led learning, talent development, and leadership capability-building initiatives for a workforce of over 9,000 employees, and earlier served as an HR Business Partner for the technology function, managing end-to-end people strategy including talent acquisition, engagement, and retention.
Her earlier career includes significant contributions at WNS Global Services, Aon Hewitt, Mercer, and Genpact, where she built strong expertise in employee relations, performance management, HR consulting, and large-scale workforce management, consistently aligning HR strategies with business outcomes.
Alongside her corporate roles, Shweta has also been actively involved in mentoring and coaching, contributing to initiatives focused on leadership development and women’s empowerment, reflecting her commitment to building inclusive and future-ready talent ecosystems.
Shweta holds an MDBA in Human Resources & Marketing from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, equipping her with a strong foundation in both people strategy and business alignment.
