Hong Kong, May 2026 — Sompo Asia Pacific has appointed Kelvin Woo as Chief Distribution Officer, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, effective 11 May 2026. Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Alasdair Walker, Sompo Hong Kong CEO.
In this role, Kelvin will shape and execute Sompo’s sales, client, and distribution strategy across Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, working closely with commercial, consumer, and support functions to strengthen market position and develop the business as a regional hub.
Kelvin brings over 30 years of insurance industry experience across underwriting, portfolio management, broker relationships, client strategy, distribution, and profitable growth. Before joining Sompo, he served as Head of Corporate Underwriting, Hong Kong & Macau at QBE Asia, where he managed corporate and personal lines underwriting, major trading partner relationships, and underwriting governance.
Earlier, Kelvin held senior leadership roles across Generali Global Corporate & Commercial, Generali Hong Kong, AIG Insurance Hong Kong, Generali Asia, Generali Thailand, AXA General Insurance Hong Kong, and American International Underwriters, building deep expertise across property, casualty, commercial, non-life, and regional insurance operations.
