Chandigarh, India, May 2026 — Brajesh Kumar has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL), the RPSG Group’s power distribution company responsible for electricity distribution and retail supply across the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
CPDL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eminent Electricity Distribution Limited under the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group’s CESC power business, serves over 1.2 million residents and manages a robust electricity distribution infrastructure across Chandigarh.
Brajesh Kumar brings extensive leadership experience in India’s power distribution and utility sector. Prior to joining CPDL, he served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at BSES Yamuna Power Limited, where he led strategic and operational initiatives focused on grid reliability, AT&C loss reduction, digital transformation, customer service, financial performance, and sustainability. Over nearly a decade at BSES Yamuna Power, he also held senior leadership positions including Chief Business Officer and Business Head.
Earlier in his career, Brajesh held leadership roles with Reliance Infrastructure, where he managed customer business centers, operational circles, and strategic implementation functions, consistently delivering operational excellence and revenue optimization. His professional journey also includes senior commercial and marketing leadership positions at Jindal Steel & Power, Hindalco Industries, Sterlite Industries, and Reliance Communications, reflecting a strong foundation in strategic business leadership across infrastructure-intensive sectors.
In his new role, Brajesh will focus on leading CPDL’s strategic and operational framework, driving safe, reliable, customer-centric power distribution while enhancing governance, digital modernization, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
