New York, United States, June 2026 — MSCI Inc. has welcomed Kashi Kakarla as its new Chief Technology Officer and Head of Product Engineering, marking a significant addition to the company’s global technology leadership team as it continues to strengthen its innovation-driven investment solutions and technology capabilities.
Kakarla brings with him nearly three decades of deep expertise in engineering leadership, product development, large-scale technology transformation, and enterprise innovation across globally recognized technology organizations. In his new role at MSCI, he will lead technology strategy and product engineering initiatives focused on accelerating innovation, enhancing platform capabilities, and driving scalable technology solutions for the global investment community.
Prior to joining MSCI, Kakarla spent more than 17 years at Intuit, where he held several senior technology leadership positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering, leading critical engineering functions and driving product innovation initiatives across the organization.
Before that, he served as Vice President of Product Development, where he played a key role in strengthening product engineering capabilities and delivering customer-centric technology solutions. Earlier, as Director of Engineering and Group Development Manager, he contributed significantly to engineering excellence, technology modernization, and large-scale product delivery initiatives at Intuit’s Mountain View operations.
Earlier in his career, Kakarla worked with SiRF Technology Inc. as Director, System Engineering, where he led engineering and system development initiatives within the semiconductor and wireless technology space.
He also spent over 11 years with Motorola India Pvt Ltd as Principal Staff Engineer, building strong expertise in advanced engineering, product development, and technology systems during the formative years of his professional journey.
With extensive experience spanning product engineering, enterprise technology leadership, innovation management, and digital transformation, Kakarla is widely recognized for building high-performing engineering organizations and delivering scalable technology platforms that support business growth and customer success.
His appointment comes at a time when MSCI continues to expand its technology and analytics capabilities to support the evolving needs of investors and financial institutions worldwide.
