Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2026 — Howden has welcomed Suresh Subramanium as Executive Vice President & Head – Employee Benefits (West).
With over 25 years of experience in the Employee Benefits and insurance broking sector, Subramanium brings extensive expertise in business management, strategic planning, client engagement, employee benefits consulting, and business development. His career reflects a strong ability to navigate complex client environments while delivering value-driven solutions through a consultative and client-centric approach.
In his new role at Howden, he will be responsible for strengthening the company’s Employee Benefits practice across the western region, deepening client relationships, driving business growth, and supporting the delivery of innovative employee benefits solutions to organizations across industries.
Prior to joining Howden, Subramanium served as Senior Vice President at WTW, where he was part of the Health & Benefits Practice and played a key role in supporting client engagement and business growth initiatives within the employee benefits space.
Earlier, he worked with Prudent Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd., contributing to the development and expansion of its Employee Benefits Practice. Before that, he spent more than two years with Mercer Marsh Benefits, serving as Executive Vice President and earlier as Principal – Global Benefits Consulting, advising organizations on employee benefits strategy, consulting, and workforce wellbeing initiatives.
A significant part of his professional journey was spent with Global Insurance Brokers Pvt Limited, where he served as Vice President – Employee Benefits. During this period, he led new business acquisition initiatives, coached sales teams across multiple locations, and helped develop market strategies for key client accounts.
His earlier leadership experience also includes serving as Head – Business Development at India Insure Risk Management Services, where he successfully managed client retention and new business growth initiatives. He also held leadership positions at Family Health Plan Ltd. and Paramount Healthcare Services, gaining extensive expertise in healthcare administration, employee benefits, insurance services, and business development.
With decades of experience across employee benefits consulting, health and wellness solutions, insurance broking, client management, and business leadership, Subramanium’s appointment further strengthens Howden’s commitment to delivering meaningful, client-focused employee benefits solutions.
