Ankara, Turkey – Ayşegül Akyüz has been named the new Market Director of Human Resources for Premium & Select Brands at Marriott International, overseeing Turkey, Jordan, and Kuwait. Akyüz brings a wealth of experience, with over 18 years in human resources within the hospitality industry, to her new role at Marriott International.
Prior to her current appointment, Akyüz served as the Complex Director of Human Resources at the Sheraton Ankara Hotel & Convention Center since February 2023. In this role, she played a crucial part in shaping the HR strategies that significantly enhanced the hotel’s operations and staff management across multiple departments.
Before her tenure at Sheraton, Akyüz was the Human Resources Manager at Ankara HiltonSA from June 2014 to January 2023. During her nearly nine years at Hilton, she led numerous initiatives that improved employee relations, talent management, and operational HR processes, helping to steer the hotel through periods of significant organizational change.
Akyüz also managed human resources at the DoubleTree by Hilton Ankara for a year, where she implemented HR strategies that boosted staff engagement and productivity.
Her extensive experience in the field began at Radisson Blu, Ankara, where she held the role of Human Resources Manager from February 2007 to April 2013, after transitioning from a coordinator and administrative assistant position. Her tenure at Radisson Blu was marked by innovative workforce management and the introduction of robust HR policies that supported the hotel’s business objectives.
