Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, July 2026 — Roche has announced the appointment of Daniel Malarek as President and Chief Executive Officer of Roche Diagnostics USA, effective August 1. Daniel will lead the company’s U.S. diagnostics business, advancing innovation, strengthening customer partnerships, and accelerating the delivery of cutting-edge diagnostic solutions that improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery across the United States.
Prior to this appointment, Daniel served as Chief Executive Officer of Foundation Medicine, where he led the precision oncology company through its next phase of growth and innovation. Before taking on the CEO role at Foundation Medicine, he built an accomplished 17-year career with Roche, holding a series of global and regional leadership positions across diagnostics, marketing, business development, and general management.
During his tenure at Roche, Daniel most recently served as Global Head of Marketing and Customer Insights, Roche Diagnostics Solutions, where he led global commercial strategy and customer engagement initiatives. Earlier, he was General Manager, Roche Diagnostics Norway, overseeing business operations and market growth, and held leadership roles including Lifecycle Leader – Molecular Diagnostics, International Business Leader – Molecular Diagnostics, Project Manager, EMEA/LATAM, and Head of Marketing and Business Development, Diabetes Care Russia. He also participated in Roche’s prestigious Perspectives Global Management Development Program, gaining international leadership experience across Switzerland, the United States, Austria, and Russia. During this period, he led humanitarian healthcare projects in rural India as part of Roche’s secondment program in partnership with ADRA Austria.
With nearly 20 years of leadership experience in diagnostics, biotechnology, precision medicine, commercial strategy, international business, and healthcare innovation, Daniel has built a distinguished career leading high-performing global teams and delivering transformational business growth. His appointment marks a return to Roche, where his extensive knowledge of the organization, combined with his recent CEO experience at Foundation Medicine, positions him to lead Roche Diagnostics USA through its next chapter of innovation and growth.
