Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, September 2025 – Apollo Hospitals has appointed Akshay Oleti as Chief Executive Officer – Karnataka. In his new role, Akshay will be responsible for steering Apollo’s healthcare operations across Karnataka, driving clinical excellence, patient experience, and sustainable growth as the group strengthens its position as the world’s largest integrated healthcare platform.
Akshay most recently served as Business Head – Bangalore at Fortis Healthcare, where he managed a cluster of four hospitals with 1,400 beds and an annual turnover of ₹1,000 crores. As Zonal Director (P&L Head), he was instrumental in defining the region’s vision and strategy, fostering growth, and enhancing operational sustainability.
Before Fortis, he was Cluster Head – Bangalore at Rainbow Children’s Hospitals, with complete ownership of P&L for three hospitals. He oversaw expansion with the addition of two new facilities while focusing on improving patient satisfaction, brand value, and operational efficiency.
Earlier, Akshay spent over a decade at Narayana Health, where he held several senior leadership positions. As Revenue Head – Athma & Medha, he co-created Medha Analytics, a data intelligence platform that drove revenue growth and cost optimization. He also served as Oncology Business Lead, managing a vertical with 300+ clinicians and $50 million annual turnover, delivering 25% year-on-year growth in oncology services. Previously, as Facility Director of Narayana Hospitals, Howrah, he led a 350-bed quaternary care hospital to achieve a CAGR of 23% and a threefold EBITDA growth. His tenure also included roles as Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Supply Chain, and Vice President of Information Technology, where he drove major organizational transformation initiatives ranging from supply chain reconfiguration and cost optimization to IT system rollouts and IPO documentation.
Akshay began his career as a Consultant Trainee at Arthur D. Little in Dubai, where he worked on long-term telecom sector strategies in the MENA region. Earlier, he served as a Senior Healthcare Software Developer at SAP and a Full-year Intern at INSEAD, where he created a widely adopted online management simulation for MBA students.
Akshay holds a Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB).
