Hyderabad, Telangana, India, September 2024 – Amir Alvi has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Fertilisers at Coromandel International Limited, where he will oversee key functions such as operations, marketing, supply chain, HR, and finance. In his new role, Amir is tasked with ensuring the availability of millions of tonnes of phosphatic fertilisers to Indian farmers, while introducing innovative technologies to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
Amir Alvi has been with Coromandel International Limited for over 11 years, where he most recently served as President & Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain. In this role, he led manufacturing and supply chain operations for the company’s fertiliser segment across multiple sites in India and supported joint ventures abroad. His leadership and contributions were instrumental in expanding the company’s production capacity and improving operational processes.
Prior to this, Amir was the Executive Vice President & Head of Manufacturing at Coromandel, overseeing the production of fertilisers and single superphosphate (SSP) for the company. His responsibilities included managing 11 manufacturing sites across India, making Coromandel the largest private phosphatic manufacturer in the country.
Before joining Coromandel, Amir worked at Tata Chemicals for over 15 years in various leadership roles. He served as Vice President and Site Head at Tata Chemicals’ Haldia facility, one of the largest phosphatic fertiliser manufacturing sites in India, with a capacity of 1.1 million tonnes per annum. He also held the role of Head of Production at Tata Chemicals, Babrala, where he managed large-scale production operations.
Amir’s extensive experience in managing large-scale production facilities and driving operational excellence has positioned him as a key leader in the fertiliser industry.
