New Delhi, India, July 2025 — Amitabh Chaudhry, Managing Director & CEO of Axis Bank, has been appointed as the Vice President of ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) for the financial year 2025–26. The appointment was announced during ASSOCHAM’s First Managing Committee Meeting for the current fiscal year and marks a key addition to the chamber’s leadership team.
With over 30 years of distinguished experience across the banking, insurance, and IT sectors, Chaudhry is widely respected for his transformational leadership. Since joining Axis Bank in 2019, he has led the organization through a pivotal phase of digital modernization, customer-centric innovation, and sustainable growth, aligning closely with ASSOCHAM’s agenda of inclusive economic progress and future-ready policy frameworks.
Prior to Axis Bank, he served as MD & CEO at HDFC Life Insurance, where he steered the company through strategic inflection points including a successful IPO and significant market expansion. He also held the role of CEO & MD at Infosys BPO Americas, driving global delivery excellence and cross-border growth.
Chaudhry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. His extensive boardroom experience in sectors ranging from education to transport finance further positions him as a formidable voice in India’s business policy ecosystem. In his new role at ASSOCHAM, he is expected to champion industry collaboration, policy innovation, and holistic economic reform.
