Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 — Axis Capital has welcomed Anand Bardhan as its new Executive Director & Head – Human Resources. In his new role, he will lead the company’s human resources function, driving people strategy, talent development, leadership capability, and organizational effectiveness initiatives that support Axis Capital’s growth ambitions.
With a strong belief in people as the cornerstone of organizational success, Anand brings a leadership vision centered on empowering talent, fostering innovation, and building a culture of meaningful impact. He is widely recognized for his expertise in talent acquisition, talent management, business partnering, leadership development, and organizational transformation.
Prior to joining Axis Capital, Anand spent more than eight years with Axis Bank, where he held several senior leadership positions. Most recently, he served as SVP – Head Talent Acquisition & Centre of Excellence, leading enterprise-wide talent strategies and strengthening talent acquisition capabilities. Before that, he was Head – Business Partnering & Acquisition, where he played a key role in aligning people initiatives with business priorities and driving workforce effectiveness across the organization.
Earlier in his career, Anand served as Talent Lead at BASF, where he was responsible for talent management initiatives across South Asia. He also held leadership positions at Korn Ferry International, where he led HR and solutions delivery initiatives, and at Capgemini India Pvt Ltd, where he gained extensive experience in talent acquisition, learning and development, and performance management. He began his professional journey with Idea Cellular Ltd, building an early foundation in human resources and organizational development.
Throughout his career, Anand has demonstrated a strong ability to build high-performing teams, develop leadership capabilities, and create people-centric strategies that drive organizational success. His broad experience across banking, consulting, and industrial sectors positions him well to shape the next chapter of Axis Capital’s people agenda.
