Mumbai, India, July 2026 — National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) has announced the appointment of Arun Kumar Krishnamurthy, Chartered FCIPD, as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). As a member of the leadership team, Arun will lead NIIF’s people agenda, supporting the organization’s next phase of growth through strategic talent management, leadership development, organizational capability, and culture building.
With more than 27 years of leadership experience across financial services, telecommunications, FMCG, and technology, Arun has built a distinguished career shaping high-performing organizations and driving people transformation at scale. At NIIF, he will be responsible for strengthening the firm’s talent strategy, enhancing leadership capability, fostering a high-performance culture, and building the organizational capabilities required to support long-term institutional growth.
Prior to joining NIIF, Arun spent nearly a decade with Barclays, most recently serving as Managing Director and Head of HR India. In this role, he led the people strategy for more than 20,000 employees across the Investment and Corporate Bank, Wealth Banking, and Barclays Global Service Centre in India, overseeing strategic talent management, succession planning, employer branding, organizational capability, and culture transformation. Earlier, he served as Director and Head of HR India, and also took on the additional responsibility of Interim Head of HR, Asia Pacific for Barclays Corporate & Investment Bank, supporting leadership and people strategy across the region.
Before Barclays, Arun held several global HR leadership roles with Vodafone Group, including HR Director for Vodafone Romania, Global Head of HR – Vodafone Shared Services, and Head of HR – Global IT based in London. During this period, he partnered with executive leadership teams to drive organizational transformation, global workforce planning, leadership development, HR governance, and shared services excellence across multiple international markets.
Earlier in his career, Arun spent nearly nine years with Unilever, progressing through leadership roles including Global Performance Management Manager, Management Development Manager, and HR Manager across multiple business units. His work included leading global performance management transformation, implementing HR technology solutions across more than 100 countries, strengthening leadership development, talent management, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness. He began his HR career with Pidilite Industries Ltd. as Deputy Manager – Human Resources, followed by a role as Senior Product Executive – HRMP at Ramco Systems, combining HR expertise with technology-led process innovation.
Arun holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) with specialization in HR and Finance from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD). He is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), reflecting his commitment to excellence in the HR profession.
