St. Louis, Missouri, United States, September 2024 – Ashley Nelson has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer at American Industrial Transport (AITX). In her new role, Ashley will lead the company’s human resources strategy, overseeing talent acquisition, employee development, and aligning the HR function with AITX’s growth objectives.
Prior to joining AITX, Ashley spent nearly 10 years at True Manufacturing, where she served as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Reporting directly to the CEO, Ashley played a critical role in offering strategic insights and guidance on organizational decisions, which positively impacted business outcomes. She also advanced the company’s people-focused mission through effective HR leadership and employee engagement strategies.
Before stepping into the CHRO role, Ashley was the Assistant Director of Human Resources at True Manufacturing for 2 years. During this time, she developed and implemented recruitment and retention policies, enhancing employee alignment and satisfaction across the organization. She played a key role in boosting acquisition and retention while fostering professional development.
Ashley also spent 6 years as the HR Generalist/Workers’ Compensation Manager at True Manufacturing, where she managed workers’ compensation and conflict resolution for the company’s HR department. In this role, she was instrumental in advising on legal, talent acquisition, and payroll matters while leading staff education programs on diversity, harassment, and generational differences.
In addition to her corporate roles, Ashley has been actively involved with various boards, including HR Executive Network of Greater St. Louis, HavenHouse St. Louis, and the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce & Industries, where she currently serves as the Board Chair.
