Castel San Pietro, Ticino, Switzerland – Asif Hussain has taken up the mantle as the new Chief People Officer at Medacta International, a role he began in May 2024 after a rich history of leadership within the human resources sector. This appointment marks a significant milestone in his career, reflecting his profound expertise and leadership capabilities in human resources management.
Hussain’s tenure at Medacta International began in January 2022 as the Group Human Resources Director, a role through which he notably enhanced HR frameworks and leadership development across the organization. His rapid promotion within just over two years is a testament to his strategic vision and effective management style, which have been instrumental in aligning HR initiatives with Medacta’s expansive growth goals.
Prior to joining Medacta, Hussain served as the Global Human Resources Director at SPD Swiss Precision Diagnostics, where he was involved for a year overseeing various global HR initiatives. Before that, he was with Zimmer Biomet for nearly eleven years, culminating his tenure as the Vice President of HR for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In this role, he was responsible for integrating comprehensive HR functions including Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development, and Communications across diverse regions.
Hussain also brought significant experience from his previous roles at Smith & Nephew, where he managed global HR operations for Orthopaedic Recon & Trauma and headed HR for Corporate R&D, enhancing HR frameworks across all global business units.
