Tokyo, Japan, July 2025 – Atsuro Makino has stepped into the role of Head of Talent Acquisition at Chubb, one of the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurance companies. Based in Tokyo, Atsuro will lead talent acquisition strategies and operations for Chubb Japan, aligning talent initiatives with the company’s global hiring priorities and local growth plans.
Before joining Chubb, Atsuro served as Talent Acquisition Team Lead at Korn Ferry, where he led the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Talent Acquisition team in Japan for nearly four years. His leadership was pivotal in driving targeted recruitment solutions and aligning hiring practices with client business needs.
Prior to that, he worked at Barclays as a Senior Recruiter, overseeing mid-career recruitment across front and back-office roles in Japan’s financial services sector. His expertise in talent sourcing, assessment, and market intelligence contributed to attracting top-tier candidates to the bank.
Earlier in his career, Atsuro held a consultancy role at JAC International, focusing on recruiting sales and engineering professionals for the tech-manufacturing sector. He also served as Managing Director at Ogura Capital Partners, managing venture capital investments and business advisory services for over seven years in Peru, showcasing his entrepreneurial acumen and global outlook.
His professional journey also includes leadership and consulting roles at Lloyds Bank, Michael Page, and East West Consulting, where he developed deep domain knowledge in recruitment for financial services, treasury trading, and front-office talent acquisition.
