Avantel Inaugurates ₹56-Crore Aerospace and Defence Facility in Hyderabad to Boost Indigenous Technology Development

Hyderabad, Telangana, India, October 2025 – Avantel Limited, a leading force in satellite communications and defence electronics, has inaugurated its second facility in Hyderabad, marking a major milestone in its journey toward strengthening indigenous aerospace and defence capabilities.

The newly inaugurated 76,000 sq. ft. facility, established with an investment exceeding ₹56 crore, is designed to focus on the design, development, and manufacturing of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), Radar Systems, and satellite integration. This expansion aligns with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, reinforcing Avantel’s commitment to self-reliance, technological innovation, and strategic capability enhancement in defence and aerospace.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Siddhartha Abburi, Director, Avantel Limited, said, “The inauguration of this facility marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey and fosters our commitment towards the ‘Make in India’ vision. It will further strengthen our capabilities in delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customers across diverse domains, thereby developing world-class indigenous technologies.”

The new Hyderabad facility will serve as a hub for satellite Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) and will support the establishment of Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) to enable satellite data reception. The facility is also set to drive major economic impact in the region—creating over 300 direct jobs and more than 1,000 indirect employment opportunities, thereby strengthening Telangana’s industrial ecosystem.

The inauguration of this second facility highlights Avantel’s strategic focus on in-house R&D, proprietary product development, and the creation of a robust, self-reliant defence technology infrastructure. It will also play a pivotal role in advancing Avantel’s ongoing efforts in satellite communication systems, defence electronics, and indigenous innovation ecosystems.

Beyond defence applications, Avantel’s technological advancements contribute to broader national and societal objectives. The company’s mobile satellite communication systems for Indian satellites support secure communication for strategic and critical operations, reinforcing national security and operational readiness.
