New Delhi, Delhi, India, December 2024 – B. Shanker Jaiswal has taken on the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Delhi Police, bringing his extensive expertise in cybersecurity, technology, and law enforcement to one of the world’s largest metropolitan police organizations. In his new position, Jaiswal will oversee the development and implementation of robust cybersecurity frameworks and strategies to safeguard critical police information and operations against emerging cyber threats.
Jaiswal has been associated with Delhi Police for over two years, serving as Joint Commissioner of Police, Technology, Cyber, and Licensing. During this tenure, he spearheaded various technology-driven initiatives, including the integration of advanced cybercrime analytics, cyber forensics, and modernization projects. His role also included academic collaboration as a Ph.D. scholar at IIT-Delhi, focusing on cutting-edge cyber innovations.
Previously, Jaiswal served as Director, Training & Administration at the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), where he led national initiatives on police training and modernization. Additionally, as Director, National Police Mission, he contributed to policy development for improving police efficiency and innovation across India.
Jaiswal’s expertise extends to cybersecurity research and innovation through his role as Deputy Director at the National Cyber Crime Research and Innovation Centre (NCRIC) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Here, he was instrumental in predicting vulnerabilities and fostering strategic partnerships with academia and private sectors to combat cybercrime.
Earlier in his career, Jaiswal held pivotal positions as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in South, Outer, and Traffic Southern Range within Delhi Police. He effectively managed crime prevention, VIP security, and public order in the dynamic environment of the National Capital Region.
