Knowsley, England, United Kingdom, November 2025 — Beccy Davies has taken on a pivotal new leadership role as the Director of People & Talent at Matalan, marking a significant addition to the retailer’s ongoing transformation journey. Her appointment strengthens Matalan’s commitment to building a people-first culture, elevating organisational capability, and supporting long-term business growth across its omnichannel retail ecosystem.
Immediately prior to joining Matalan, Beccy served as Head of HR at Exertis UK, where she led people strategy for 1,200 colleagues across a large, multi-specialist technology distribution business representing more than 700 global brands. She partnered closely with Managing Directors and Board leadership to establish an Employee Relations Centre of Excellence, evolve the HRBP model, and drive an insights-led, progressive HR approach. During her tenure, Exertis earned multiple DEI awards, reflecting her strong advocacy for inclusion and impact-driven culture-building.
Before Exertis, Beccy spent over eight years with The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., progressing across several senior roles including Director, HRBP Corporate Functions, National HR Business Partner for Retail UK & Ireland, Transformation Lead for MAC Cosmetics UK & Ireland, and HR Business Partner for the Retail North & Scotland Region. Across these roles, she supported over 8,000 employees, partnered with leadership teams across 12 prestigious beauty brands, and designed large-scale change, workforce capability, and people transformation initiatives through a COE-aligned operating model.
Earlier in her journey, Beccy held substantial HR leadership responsibility at Sofology, where she served as Head of HR and later as HR Business Partner Retail, supporting business expansion from 12 to 30 stores nationally. She led a major business rebrand, revamped reward structures, designed new EVP and values, and contributed to Sofology being recognised as “One to Watch” in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For. Prior to this, she built her HR foundations at Selfridges across multiple roles including HR Advisor and Learning & Development Advisor.
