Jeffersonville, Indiana, United States, June 2024 – Brigid O’Reilly Gies has joined American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) as the new Vice President of Human Resources. With a rich background in employee and faculty affairs, legal counsel, and human resources management, Brigid brings extensive expertise to the team, aiming to enhance the company’s HR strategies and support its workforce.
Before joining American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL), Brigid served at the University of Louisville for approximately 5 years. As the Associate Vice President and Deputy Counsel: Employee and Faculty Affairs for nearly 2.5 years, she managed employee relations, faculty affairs, and legal compliance. She also held the role of Assistant University Counsel for about 2.5 years, where she provided legal support and counsel to the university’s administration.
Brigid’s extensive career also includes a significant tenure at American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL), where she worked for over 7 years as Corporate Counsel. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing labor and employment matters, ensuring legal compliance, and providing strategic counsel to the organization.
Her early career includes roles such as Labor and Employment Attorney at Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, Assistant County Attorney at Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, and Attorney at Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC.
