Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, June 2024 – Chirag Shah has joined Adani Power Ltd. as the Associate Vice President of Human Resources. In his new role, Chirag will head the Corporate HR Functions of Adani Power’s Thermal Generation Business, focusing on HR strategy, digital transformation, talent management, and various other HR operations.
Chirag Shah has been a part of the Adani Group for over 11 years. His journey with the group started at Adani Ports and SEZ where he served as the Senior Manager – HR Business Partner & Internal Communication for four and a half years. He then moved to the role of Deputy General Manager – Head of Learning & OD, Talent Management & Employee Engagement for nearly two years, followed by his position as the Associate General Manager – HR Head for Goa, Vizag, Vizhinjam & Myanmar Port for seven and a half years. During his tenure, he was instrumental in managing performance management, rewards, compensation, benefits, employee life cycle management, campus recruitments, HR integration during mergers & acquisitions, and onboarding processes.
Before his long stint at Adani Group, Chirag worked at Reliance Industries Limited for three years and two months as a Manager – HR. His responsibilities included talent acquisition, performance management, and learning & development, where he played a crucial role in building robust HR practices.
Chirag also gained significant experience at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd – Pantaloons, where he worked as a Senior Executive HR for one year and seven months. In this role, he was responsible for generalist HR functions, contributing to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Chirag holds a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He was actively involved in activities such as the World Youth Peace Summit in Bangalore during his academic years.
