Johnson County Community College (JCCC) in Overland Park, Kansas, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Christina McGee as the new Vice President of Human Resources, effective March 25, 2024. McGee brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in human resources, especially within the higher education sector, to her new role at JCCC.

McGee holds an MBA from Missouri State University and has earned her Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources designation, marking her as a leader in the field. Her career in human resources spans several significant roles, including a recent tenure as Chief Human Resources Officer at Kansas City Kansas Community College. This role saw her responsible for overseeing all HR functions and implementing strategies in support of the organizational goals and strategic plan, particularly in talent management, training and development, and performance management.

Before her time at Kansas City Kansas Community College, McGee served in progressive roles at Metropolitan Community College-Kansas City for over a decade. As Director of Employee Relations and Training, she led initiatives aimed at district-wide employee relations and organizational training for around 2,850 employees, showcasing her ability to manage large teams and develop effective HR strategies.

Dr. Judy Korb, Interim President of JCCC, expressed confidence in McGee’s abilities, stating, “I believe Christina’s expertise and leadership are a great match for the success of both short- and long-term employee engagement initiatives at JCCC.”

In her role at JCCC, McGee is tasked with providing strategic direction to the Human Resources department, focusing on developing programs that support employee development, streamlining HR processes, and increasing employee engagement.

“I am elated to join Johnson County Community College, where I can integrate my passion for human resources with my dedication to higher education,” McGee commented on her new position. “I am looking forward to cultivating an environment where both employees and students can thrive and reach their maximum potential.”
