Daytona Beach, Florida, United States, June 2024 – Courtney Scott has been named the new Vice President, Strategic People Operations at Brown & Brown Insurance. Courtney brings extensive experience in business development and marketing, making her well-suited to lead the company’s people strategy.
Courtney Scott has been with Brown & Brown Insurance for over 11 years. Prior to her current role, she served as the Senior Vice President, Business Development and Marketing at Brown & Brown Absence Services Group for approximately 11.5 years. In this role, Courtney spearheaded comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business objectives, driving brand visibility and market share growth. She led the rebranding process of the profit center into a single Brown & Brown entity and developed new products/services by leveraging market insights.
Courtney orchestrated cross-functional teams to execute innovative marketing campaigns, resulting in increased customer engagement and retention. She implemented data-driven approaches to analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity, positioning the company as a market leader. Additionally, she established and nurtured strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, optimized digital marketing channels, directed compelling content creation, and oversaw integrated marketing communications plans.
Before joining Brown & Brown, Courtney worked as a Brand and Communications Consultant for over 13 years, where she consulted with small to mid-sized organizations to establish or redefine brand strategies. She created a unique discovery process for identifying and codifying brand strategies, produced documentation of overall brand strategy, and trained staff to implement the strategies effectively. Her consulting services also included marketing strategy and execution, communications planning, content strategy, social media strategy, and marketing project management.
Courtney also served as a Director of Marketing at Firstgiving for approximately 8 months, where she directed the marketing function and led branding, email communications, public relations, and web marketing strategies. She implemented large-scale marketing campaigns and collaborated closely with product and business development teams on communication strategies and product launches.
Earlier in her career, Courtney was the Director of Marketing and Customer Retention at Gentle Giant Moving & Storage for over 7 years. She managed the company’s marketing strategy, customer retention program, PR initiatives, and market research for new services and geographic locations. She also participated as a member of the senior management team, establishing the long-term vision of the company.
Courtney began her career as the Director of Content and Customer Satisfaction at MediaMap (now Cision), where she managed a media database and reorganized the department to improve efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
