Denver, Colorado, United States, June 2024 – Tricia Berry has been named the new Vice President, People Team at Optum. Tricia will lead the function for the tri-state region of OptumHealth, bringing her extensive experience in human resources and operations to support the company’s growth and development.
Tricia Berry has been with Optum for over 4 years, holding various key positions within the organization. Prior to her current role, she served as the Head of Optum Partner Services – OptumHealth National for approximately 1.5 years. In this role, Tricia was instrumental in building out the Optum Partner Services (OPS) function to support Optum’s provider growth efforts across Optum Health, ensuring seamless services such as payroll, benefits, and compliance for thousands of clinicians nationally.
Before this, Tricia was the Sr. People Business Partner for approximately 1 year, supporting the OptumHealth Networks function from an HR strategy perspective. She also served as the People Team – Colorado Chief People Officer for about 1.5 years, partnering with Optum Colorado’s executive leadership team to shape and execute human capital and talent strategies for Optum CO, including culture building, workforce strategy, and employee experience.
Tricia also held the position of Human Capital Business Partner for approximately 5 months, leading human capital for Optum Colorado Clinical Operations. Prior to that, she was the Associate Director, Talent Management for about 1.5 years, where she built and implemented the enterprise-wide Talent Marketplace, redeploying over 1500 employees and saving approximately $40M in severance for the organization.
Earlier in her career, Tricia worked at UnitedHealth Group for over 4 years, where she held various roles including Executive Sourcing Strategist and Senior Sourcing Strategist. In these roles, she conducted searches for human capital openings across the enterprise, achieving a high redeployment rate and building various redeployment models and processes.
Tricia also served as a Business Development Director at Special Counsel for approximately 1 year, developing and maintaining branch accounts through outside sales activity and generating new sales leads.
