Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2025 – Deepa Jatkar has been appointed as India Head for WPP OpenDoor, the specialized unit designed to manage Amazon’s media planning and buying account in India. WPP OpenDoor provides custom-built teams tailored to Amazon’s needs, leveraging WPP’s advanced capabilities to deliver strategic solutions across markets.
Deepa Jatkar brings extensive experience in media planning, client solutions, and digital strategy. In her new role, she will oversee operations for the Amazon account in India, focusing on delivering innovative media strategies while aligning with Amazon’s global goals.
Prior to this role, Deepa Jatkar served as Chief Growth Officer at Wavemaker India, where she successfully led growth initiatives and strategic partnerships for nearly two years. Her work included driving competitive analysis, digital strategies, and team management to strengthen Wavemaker’s market position.

Before joining Wavemaker, Jatkar spent over six years at Meta as Manager – Global Business Group, Agency Vertical. Here, she collaborated with India’s leading media agencies, driving operational excellence and revenue growth. She also focused on building scalable partner ecosystems and deploying strategic business plans.
Earlier in her career, Jatkar held pivotal roles at MediaCom, including General Manager and Senior Business Director. During her tenure, she managed end-to-end media strategies for prominent clients such as Volkswagen, Audi, and Future Group, while also overseeing P&L responsibilities for the Mumbai unit.
In her foundational years, she gained valuable experience at Omnicom Group, Mindshare, and McCann Worldgroup, where she honed her skills in media strategy, campaign execution, and innovative solutions for top global brands.
