Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Bandhan Life has announced the appointment of Deepankar Sadhukhan as Senior Vice President – Human Resources (Talent and Culture), reinforcing its commitment to building a strong, future-ready, people-first organisation as it scales its life insurance ambitions across India.
With close to fifteen years of progressive HR leadership experience across BFSI and allied sectors, Deepankar brings deep expertise in talent strategy, organisation design, HR technology, learning, leadership development and culture transformation. His appointment marks a strategic step in strengthening Bandhan Life’s people architecture, leadership capability and cultural foundations.
Deepankar joins Bandhan Life after a highly impactful leadership tenure at Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance, where he most recently served as Vice President 2 – Head of Talent, Learning & OD, HRBP & Talent Acquisition (Corporate HR). During this phase, he led multiple industry-first digital and talent innovations, including the creation of a tech-enabled Talent Platform, AI-powered HR Bot, competency frameworks covering more than 1,300 technical skills, and a company-wide Learning Experience Platform with high adoption. He was a two-time recipient of the Dai-ichi Global Innovation Fund and was selected for the prestigious DINO Global Cohort — one of only 52 leaders globally.
Earlier at Star Union Dai-ichi Life, he served as Vice President 1 – Head Talent, Learning & OD, HRBP & Talent Acquisition, where he drove organisation design, leadership development, global talent reviews, HR analytics and digital HR transformation initiatives at scale.
Prior to this, Deepankar spent over five years with IDFC FIRST Bank, holding progressive HR leadership roles including Vice President – Lead HR Business Partner & Corporate HR, Associate Vice President – Zonal Manager HRBP (South India), and other senior regional leadership positions, leading strategic HR business partnering, productivity transformation, succession planning and leadership hiring across the bank.
His earlier career includes HR leadership roles at Kotak Mahindra Bank, Premierworld Technology, Pantaloon Retail (Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail) and early corporate exposure at Linde, building strong foundations in retail HR, corporate HR, learning & development, performance management and employer branding.
