Los Angeles, California, United States, September 2025 – David Schwendimann has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer at Lief Labs. In his new role, Schwendimann will focus on steering the company’s growth, advancing product innovation, and strengthening Lief Labs’ position as a leader in dietary supplement manufacturing and formulation.
Most recently, Schwendimann served as President at Doctor’s Best, where he led operations and strategic initiatives for the nutraceutical company, focusing on growth and customer expansion in the global supplements space.
Prior to that, he worked with ONCE Ventures, Otsuka’s consumer-focused corporate venture capital arm, as Senior Investment Director, and simultaneously held the role of Senior Director of Corporate Strategy and Development – Nutraceuticals at Otsuka America, Inc.. In these positions, he was instrumental in driving investment activity in health and wellness, including supplements, novel technologies, and consumer products, while also spearheading M&A strategy for Otsuka’s North American business.
Earlier, Schwendimann served as Chief Commercial Officer at MeriCal®, where he spearheaded sales, marketing, and commercialization functions, driving profitable growth for a leading contract and private label manufacturer of vitamins, minerals, and supplements.
Schwendimann also spent over a decade at Pharmavite, a leading health and wellness-focused CPG manufacturer. His tenure included leadership roles as Divisional Vice President for Customer Commercialization, International, Sales Strategy, and Corporate Strategy & Development. He managed U.S. sales operations with over $1.2B in gross sales, directed international business across 10+ countries, and helped define corporate strategy and shareholder value improvement plans.
He began his career in consulting and finance, with roles at Countrywide Financial Corporation and Mercer, where he gained strong experience in performance measurement, strategy, and compensation program design.
Schwendimann holds an MBA from Duke University – The Fuqua School of Business, which has equipped him with a strong foundation in management and strategic leadership.
