Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland, March 2026 – Erich W. Steiner has started a new role as Global Head of Logistics Procurement at Roche, bringing decades of global experience in logistics, supply chain strategy, and procurement leadership across leading multinational organizations.
In his new role, he will focus on strengthening global logistics procurement capabilities, building resilient supply chains, and driving strategic partnerships to support Roche’s mission of delivering life-changing healthcare solutions worldwide.
Erich W. Steiner returns to Roche after previously serving as Global Lead – Distribution Network Strategy for Cell Therapies, where he contributed to shaping advanced supply chain models for innovative therapies. His re-entry into Roche reflects his deep expertise in building future-ready logistics ecosystems.
Most recently, he worked as an Independent Senior Consultant, advising organizations on logistics, supply chain optimization, and procurement strategies, helping businesses navigate complex global supply challenges and improve operational efficiency.
Prior to this, he served as Senior Director – Global Head Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution and Customer Service at Idorsia Pharmaceuticals, where he led end-to-end logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and customer-centric service delivery across global markets.
A significant part of his career was spent at Novartis Gene Therapies, where he held multiple leadership roles over more than a decade, including Global Head Logistics for New Business and Technology and Head Logistics Procurement for EMEA. He played a key role in advancing logistics strategies for emerging therapies, particularly in the highly complex cell and gene therapy space.
Earlier in his career, Erich held leadership roles at Nestlé, DACHSER, Kimberly-Clark, and Mars, building a strong foundation in warehousing, distribution, customer logistics, and supply chain planning across Europe. His journey reflects deep expertise in managing complex logistics networks and driving operational excellence across industries.
